At this month’s General Synod, the Church of England voted to commend Kairos II for study across the Church.
After the debate, I was asked by General Synod member and theologian Ian Paul to write a detailed piece for Psephizo, looking at both the strengths and the more serious theological, historical, and legal issues in the document.
My main point is straightforward: Palestinian Christians need to be heard. But listening to their testimony is not the same as treating contested historical, legal, and political claims as if they are settled Christian theology.
I hope the article helps shift the conversation away from slogans and towards more careful theological reflection.
