Excellent essay on power. At the core of all influence is power or the ability to act coupled with authority or the right to act. Leaders have power and authority to lead. The use of power by a person providing leadership service is guided by the mindset of the leader. Our mindset governs our use of power and authority.

Thanks, Jules. And whilst mindset governs power, that power also reveals and reshapes our inner world of mindset. Which is why formation—not just mindset—is so crucial for leaders.

A true paradox. Both formation and mindset need to be held in tension.

“You are not asked to stabilise yourself before you lead. You are not asked to resolve your anxiety, master your nervous system, and then show up. You are invited to remain present — with him, within it — in the unresolved, uncomfortable, destabilised reality of the room as it actually is.”….really good food for thought!
